huldufólk is the Icelandic word meaning 'hidden folk' or 'elves'. huldufólk are mythical beings that live in nature. Throughout folklore, history, and even in Icelandic popular culture, these beings are esteemed and respected since they can bring fortune or misfortune.  


During my time living in Iceland I observed, on more than a few occasions, huldufólk.  While not normally visible to the human eye, my mind's eye was able to discern huldufólk, appearing out of nowhere, presenting themselves in ways never before documented until now . . .
